Today's Coronavirus/COVID-19 operational updates

We want to share with you the latest updates to campus operations and logistics related to coronavirus/COVID-19 and Brandeis’ transition to online classes. We are keeping track of information shared with us through the covid-19@brandeis.edu email box, with the help of the Student Union and a variety of other sources, and are updating the FAQ pagelong8游戏 regularly.

Today’s updates:

Student emergency funds — how to access them, and how to give

Students who are concerned about the costs of their move home, or who have other financial concerns, should contact the Office of Student Financial Services (SFS) at 781-736-3700 or emergencyfunds@brandeis.edu to discuss options.

long8游戏 Community members who would like to contribute financially are invited to support the . 100 percent of gifts to this fund will benefit students. In addition to supporting this effort as you are able, we hope you will share this within your own Brandeis networks. Many students and alumni have expressed interest in supporting their fellow Brandeisians and we deeply appreciate their concern and contributions.

Mailroom info

The Mailroom will be open for special hours on Saturday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.long8游戏 along with its regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All first-class mail can be forwarded if students fill out a forwarding form. Students expecting packages to arrive after their departures may provide prepaid shipping labels to the Mailroom and the package will be forwarded accordingly. Otherwise, any packages received after students’ departures will be securely stored in the Mailroom awaiting the students' return in the fall.  Students may also have their packages redirected by the respective carrier (Fed-Ex, UPS, etc.).

University Health Insurance

long8游戏We want to reassure students and parents that students on the university health plan — the Blue Care Elect Preferred Student Health Plan — includes a broad national network that will cover them throughout the U.S. To find an in-network healthcare provider, students can call the number on the back of their card, or use the on the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts website. Enter the state or zip code in which you need a provider and select PPO or EPO network from the drop-down menu.

FOR STAFF AND FACULTY: Urgent technology purchase guidelines

Any staff or faculty with urgent need for a computer or computer hardware of any kind, please email both procurement@brandeis.edu and refresh@brandeis.edu with the specific computer need and ITS will do their best to help coordinate the best method for order placement. All computer-related purchases must be placed through MarketPlace+ using Dell punchout for all Dell products or SHI punchout for all Apple products, NOT through a University P-Card. Please note that the current turnaround time for fulfillment for most Apple and Dell products is extended due to high demand. ITS has partnered with Dell to add the Latitude 5400 (two configurations available) to the Dell punchout which has a turnaround time of approximately seven days.

Athletics

long8游戏All varsity sports seasons have been canceled as of today — no more games, meets or matches will be held. The NCAA has canceled all spring and winter championships. All club sports are also canceled. For more information on Athletics and information about Gosman Athletic Complex, please on the Athletics website. We realize these cancellations are deeply disappointing for our student athletes, their families and fans.
