Welcome Incoming Students!
We are so excited to welcome you into the Brandeis community. We are also mindful of the global challenge of the coronavirus. Brandeis will be operating and holding classes during the fall 2020 semester and has updated its academic calendar with classes beginning on August 26. The university will announce in early July whether classes will be in person, online or a hybrid format. The university's COVID-19 Task Force is considering numerous factors, especially state and federal health guidelines.
As we make sure to adhere to these guidelines, we will keep the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff as our top priority. The availability of effective therapies for COVID-19, the reliability, availability and extent of testing, a system of effective contact tracing, the ability to maintain public health standards of physical distancing in our residence halls, classrooms and dining facilities and the securing of rooms for isolation or quarantine will all factor into fall semester planning.

Our announcement in early July will include information about any changes to our Orientation programming. Thank you for your understanding, and please take care.
About New Student Orientation
Orientation at Brandeis is created by students for students. Orientation is coordinated by a small group of student leaders who work closely staff to create, plan and implement Orientation for the incoming class.

One of our Orientation Leaders (OLs) will serve as a guide, resource and mentor to you throughout your first days at Brandeis and beyond. If you are living on campus, you will also meet your Community Advisor (CA), a returning student who lives in your residence hall.
Orientation is full of informative and educational programs, sessions and events that will help ease your transition to life at Brandeis. You will begin to understand what it means to be a Brandeisian by meeting the engaging faculty members who will be with you through the next four years, learning about the university’s history and available resources. And even though Orientation will come to an end, your OL, CA, faculty and staff will be here for you whenever you need us.

- To welcome and assist students with their transition to life and learning at Brandeis University;
- To acclimate new students to the norms, policies, and procedures of student life;
- To facilitate conversations among students, staff, and faculty to begin building relationships;
- To facilitate and encourage conversations to enhance student growth and development.
Fall move-in dates will be finalized once the university announces its decision about fall 2020 operations related to COVID-19 planning.
